“Technology has become an unavoidable necessity of the present times. Using Swadeshi does not mean abandoning technology; however, society must ensure that it does not become enslaved by it. We engage in industry not merely for personal profit, but for the welfare of society,” said Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat, while addressing a Yuva Udyami Samvad on January 17, 2026 at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
Dr Bhagwat stated, “Technology in itself is not harmful, but we must not become its slaves. We work to fulfil the needs of society, which also becomes a means of livelihood. Even today, an Indian farmer says that farming is his dharma—such a lofty thought is rare elsewhere. Therefore, we must understand that our work is society-oriented. Modern technology should be adopted according to the conditions of the country. Special care must be taken to ensure that technology does not harm society or reduce employment opportunities.”
Dr Mohan Bhagwat also interacted directly with thinkers and influential members of society. He responded to questions and concerns submitted in written form by those present. On the dais, Prant Sanghchalak Anil Bhalerao was present.
The programme was conducted by Dr Prashant Gayakwad and Pushkar Dargad. Prabhu Mate presented a solo song, and the programme concluded with the Kalyan Mantra.
Notably, RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat is on a two-day visit to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Earlier on January 16, as part of the RSS Centenary Year celebrations, he interacted with youth at a Yuva Sammelan.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Bhagwat said, “The contribution of youth is essential for India’s development. There is nothing wrong in going abroad to acquire knowledge, but that knowledge should be utilised for India. The responsibility of shaping the nation’s future lies with the youth. Today’s youth is patriotic. The greater the sense of patriotism among the youth, the more they will work for the nation.”
He noted that many individuals have worked with the RSS to use their knowledge and skills for the benefit of the country. He clarified that the RSS neither competes with anyone nor opposes anyone, but seeks to build a strong and self-reliant society. He called upon the youth to contribute to this endeavour.
The Yuva Sammelan was organised at Manthan Hall, MIT College. Youth participants actively posed several questions, which were addressed by the Sarsanghchalak in detail.
