AIISH Kanpur Satellite Campus: North India’s First State-of-the-Art Speech & Hearing Institute

Kanpur is set to become a national hub for healthcare and special education with the upcoming All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH) satellite campus. Located in the Surar area, this ₹180 crore project is not just a medical facility but a transformational step for patients and students across North India who previously had to travel to Mysuru for specialized care.

Early Intervention: The Pre-Primary Block

A standout feature of the campus is the Pre-Primary Block, designed specifically for the “Golden Period” of a child’s development. Early diagnosis of communication disorders can drastically change a child’s life trajectory.

• Screening: Newborn hearing screening and early language delay detection.

• Therapy: Specialized clinical environments for pediatric speech therapy.

• Support: Helping children with developmental needs integrate into mainstream schooling.

Residential and Academic Infrastructure

To foster a national learning environment, the campus will offer extensive residential facilities:

• Hostels: Separate, secure accommodations for 102 male and 102 female students.

• Academic Wings: Modern classrooms and research labs for future audiologists and speech-language pathologists.

The institute will mirror the excellence of AIISH Mysuru, featuring:

1. Modern Audiology Labs: For precise hearing assessments and balance (vestibular) testing.

2. Tele-Assessment: Digital outreach for patients in remote areas of Uttar Pradesh and beyond.
