Women Empowerment & Odia Culture Shine at ‘Parichaya Matrushakti Samman–2026’

In a grand celebration dedicated to motherhood and women empowerment, the “Parichaya Matrushakti Samman–2026” programme was successfully organised at Hotel Swosti Premium in Bhubaneswar on the occasion of Mother’s Day.

The event was jointly organised by Prayas and Bright Odisha Foundation with the support of the Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture. The main objective of the programme was to honour the endless sacrifice, struggle, achievements, and invaluable contributions of mothers in different spheres of society.

Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi attended the event as the chief guest and delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the unmatched role of mothers in shaping society and building strong values in future generations.

Renowned Odia litterateur, columnist, and speaker Professor Dash Benhur attended the programme as the guest of honour. Bram Vandeputte, Managing Director of International Seaport Dredging Private Limited (ISDPL), Germany, also graced the occasion as a special guest.

Several distinguished personalities, artists, social workers, and dignitaries were present during the event, including Dr. Bhagyalipi Mall, convener of “Parichaya Matrushakti Samman”, Priyadarshi Mishra, Founder President of Prayas, Dr. Rosalin Pattashani Mishra, Founder Chairperson of Parichaya, and Sanjay Kumar Mahakud, Founder of Bright Odisha Foundation.

One of the major highlights of the evening was the presentation of the “Parichaya Matrushakti Samman–2026” awards. Twelve accomplished women from different fields were honoured for their remarkable achievements and inspirational contributions to society.

Speaking on the occasion, Priyadarshi Mishra emphasised the importance of women empowerment and the need to ensure respect, recognition, and active participation of women in every sphere of society.

The programme began with a soulful welcome song dedicated to motherhood, beautifully rendered by singer Dr. Jayashree Dhal. The lyrics were written by Dr. Bhagyalipi Mall, while the music was composed by Saswata Tripathy.

The evening also featured a special video presentation on motherhood, felicitation ceremonies, musical performances, Odissi dance presentations, and the glamorous “Parinati Ethnic Runway – Mother’s Day Special Show,” which mesmerised the audience. The fashion showcase beautifully highlighted Odisha’s handloom heritage, traditional attire, culture, and ethnic fashion.

Overall, the event emerged as a meaningful initiative celebrating women empowerment, promoting Odia culture, and recognising the priceless contribution of mothers towards society.
