WAMS-2026 International Symposium Concludes Successfully at BVRIT

Hyderabad, 13th June 2026: The 5th IEEE Wireless, Antenna and Microwave Symposium (WAMS-2026), hosted by B.V. Raju Institute of Technology (BVRIT), Narsapur, concluded successfully after five days of intensive technical sessions, research presentations, professional networking, and international collaboration. The symposium served as a premier platform for scientific research dissemination, industry-academia interaction, professional development, and global partnerships.

The valedictory session was graced by Dr. Sudhakar K. Rao, WAMS Advisor and internationally acclaimed antenna scientist. Speaking on the occasion, he expressed his sincere appreciation to Sri K. V. Vishnu Raju, Chairman of the Sri Vishnu Educational Society, for providing world-class infrastructure and a green, healthy campus environment that greatly contributed to the success of the symposium.

Dr. Rao highlighted that WAMS-2026 attracted 1,059 international research paper submissions and witnessed participation from 18 countries, bringing together representatives from leading research organizations, universities, industries, and academic institutions across the world.

The closing ceremony was presided over by Dr. B. R. Sanjeeva Reddy, General Chair of WAMS-2026 and Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, BVRIT. Distinguished guests included Dr. P. Satish Ram ChowdaryDr. V. Sameer Chakravarthy, and Dr. K. Lakshmi Prasad, Director of BVRIT.

The organizers outlined the major achievements of the symposium, which brought together eminent scientists, researchers, industry leaders, academicians, technology professionals, and students from India, the United States, France, Taiwan, Italy, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Australia, and several other countries. Extensive discussions were held on emerging trends and innovations in wireless communications, antenna technologies, microwave engineering, artificial intelligence, and related fields.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. K. Lakshmi Prasad, Director of BVRIT, stated that the symposium successfully fulfilled its objectives of promoting cutting-edge research, facilitating knowledge sharing, and strengthening collaborations among researchers, industries, and academic institutions worldwide.

Dr. Sanjay Dubey, Principal of BVRIT, remarked that WAMS has significantly enhanced the institute’s international visibility and reputation. He emphasized that the participation of experts from diverse countries created valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange, networking, and future collaborative research initiatives among academia, industry, and research organizations.

On the final day, technical paper presentations, feedback sessions, and networking events were conducted. Discussions focused on future collaborative opportunities and emerging research directions in wireless communications, antennas, microwaves, artificial intelligence, and advanced science and technology domains.

The organizers noted that WAMS has now achieved greater international prominence, creating a global platform that fosters knowledge exchange, networking, and long-term collaborations among researchers, industry professionals, academicians, and students.

Prestigious Awards and Recognitions

One of the major highlights of WAMS-2026 was the presentation of more than 50 prestigious awards recognizing outstanding contributions, leadership, professional service, research excellence, and technological innovation in wireless communications, antenna technology, microwave engineering, radar systems, and space technologies.

The symposium’s highest honor, the Dr. Sudhakar Rao Special Recognition Award, carrying a cash prize of ₹1,00,000, was jointly presented to Prof. Sameer Chakravarthy Vedula and Prof. P. Satish Ram Chowdary in recognition of their exceptional contributions to the growth of WAMS and the engineering community.

The Dr. Sudhakar Rao Best Paper Award, carrying a cash prize of ₹50,000, was presented to Mr. Rohit Nandwani from the ISRO Space Applications Centre, Ahmedabad, for his outstanding research contribution.

Several distinguished awards carrying cash prizes ranging from ₹10,000 to ₹25,000 were sponsored by internationally renowned scientists, including Dr. C. J. ReddyDr. Nacer Chahat (NASA/JPL)Dr. Jonathan Sauder (NASA/JPL)Prof. Lotfollah ShafaiDr. Desmond SimDr. Jayashri Kulkarni, and Dr. Zubair Akhtar.

A total of 60 awards were presented during the symposium, including 35 awards to students and 25 awards to professionals, recognizing excellence in microwave engineering, wearable technologies, multidisciplinary research, women in engineering, young professional achievements, leadership, mentoring, and technological innovation.

The awards ceremony reflected the international stature and academic excellence of WAMS-2026 while reinforcing the symposium’s commitment to promoting research excellence, creativity, professional service, leadership, and innovation among researchers, students, industry experts, and academicians worldwide.

The successful completion of WAMS-2026 marks another significant milestone in advancing global collaboration and innovation in wireless, antenna, microwave, and emerging communication technologies.

The successful organization of WAMS-2026 was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the BVRIT management, Director Dr. K. Lakshmi Prasad, Principal Dr. Sanjay Dubey, faculty members, student volunteers, administrative staff, Manager (Administration) Sri B. Bapi Raju, and Administrative Officer Sri Suresh. The organizers of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society expressed their gratitude to the BVRIT management for hosting the symposium successfully.
