Puri is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the safe and smooth conduct of Rath Yatra 2026.
With lakhs of devotees and pilgrims expected to arrive in the holy city during the world-famous festival, Puri Police has intensified its preparations by holding a major coordination meeting with various Non-Governmental Organizations, or NGOs.
The meeting was chaired by Puri Superintendent of Police, Shri Prateek Singh, at the Conference Hall of the SP Office. Senior police officials, including Additional SPs Shri Sushil Kumar Mishra, Shri Devi Pratap, Shri Sachin Patel, Shri Soumya Ranjan Mallick, and SSMSV DC Shri Koushik Nayak, were also present.
The primary focus of the meeting was to strengthen emergency healthcare services, ambulance support, first-aid arrangements, and overall safety measures for devotees during the grand festival.
Detailed discussions were held on deploying sufficient ambulances, medical teams, and trained volunteers at major crowd-concentrated locations, including Badadanda, Sharadhabali, Sea Beach, and other key areas across Puri.
Addressing the gathering, SP Puri Shri Prateek Singh urged all participating NGOs to prioritize service to devotees and work in close coordination with the police and administration. He emphasized that effective collaboration among all stakeholders would be essential for ensuring a safe, disciplined, and successful Rath Yatra.
Representatives from various NGOs actively participated in the discussions and offered valuable suggestions. They also assured full support in operating ambulance services, setting up first-aid centers, assisting lost and missing persons, and responding to emergency situations.
Puri Police has reiterated that all necessary arrangements are being made to ensure the peaceful, secure, and well-organized conduct of Rath Yatra 2026.
The safety, security, and convenience of devotees remain the top priority as the holy city prepares to welcome millions of worshippers from across India and around the world.
