Hyderabad, 5th January 2025: THE INSTITUTE OF COST ACCOUNTANTS OF INDIA – HYDERABAD CHAPTER, 60th Formation Day Diamond Jubilee Celebrations inaugurated by Chief Guest Shri Jishnu Dev Varma, Honorable Governor, Telangana; at Katriya Hotel, Somajiguda, today. Celebrations was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including the CMA Srinivasa Prasad TCA, Vice President – ICMAI; CMA K Ch A V S N Murthy, Central Council Member of ICMAI; CMA Dalwadi Ashwinkumar Gordharbhai, Central Council Member of ICMAI; CMA Dr. Lavanya Kanduri, Chairperson, ICMA – Hyderabad Chapter; and Members of the Managing Committee of The Institute of Cost Accountants of India – Hyderabad Chapter.
Chief Guest Shri Jishnu Dev Varma, Honorable Governor, Telangana; said, It gives me immense pleasure to be here today at Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of the Hyderabad Chapter of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India. This event is a testament to the Chapter’s long-standing commitment to professional excellence, societal contribution, and the development of cost and management accounting as a pivotal profession in our nation.
As we commemorate 60 glorious years of this Hyderabad Chapter, we also celebrate the profound impact it has had on the professional landscape of our nation.
The Diamond Jubilee celebration is a testament to the collective efforts of all past and present office bearers, members, and students who have dedicated themselves to the Chapter’s growth and success. The Institute of Cost Accountants of India, through its rich legacy and progressive initiatives, has continually demonstrated its dedication to nation-building.
The role of Cost and Management Accountants is pivotal in the growth and progress of our nation. CMAs are the backbone of financial discipline and economic governance, ensuring businesses function efficiently and sustainably. In today’s fast-evolving economic landscape, where India is on its ambitious journey to become a $5 trillion economy, CMAs have a critical responsibility in driving cost optimization, resource management, and financial integrity.
The Vision India@2047 emphasizes on Jan Bhagidari through SabkaSaath, SabkaPrayas and delineates the Saptarishi principles; Inclusive Development; Reaching the Last Mile; Infrastructure and Investment; Unleashing the Potential; Green Growth; Youth Power; and Financial Sector.
The Institute’s forward-looking vision and its proactive measures, such as providing fee exemptions to students from the North Eastern states, underline its commitment to inclusivity and empowerment. By nurturing young talents, especially from underrepresented regions, you are shaping a future that is equitable and promising.
I take this opportunity to commend the Institute for its visionary efforts in supporting the nation’s goals. Your initiatives align with the ethos of ‘SabkaSaath, SabkaVikas, SabkaVishwas, SabkaPrayas,’ ensuring that no one is left behind on the path of progress.
The role of cost and management accountants in steering businesses towards efficiency, sustainability, and ethical practices is more critical than ever. ‘Vision India@2047’ represents ‘India’ of prosperity and abundance. It signifies a vision for a thriving and economically vibrant India. India’s aspiration to become a developed country is an ambitious and challenging goal. The Catalysts for achieving this goal requires innovative strategies, tools and capabilities.
The CMAs symbolise the strategic instruments and tools ideally positioned to provide competitive edge and effectiveness to the organisations. Incorporating CMAs and their skillsets into the ‘Vision India@2047’ can help the stakeholders take data-driven decisions, allocate resources efficiently and implement policies effectively.
CMAs play a vital role in optimizing financial and economic outcomes in line with the overarching goals of inclusive development, reaching the last mile, infrastructure development, unleashing potential, green growth, empowering youth and strengthening the financial sector. CMA competencies represent key skills that CMAs might need in order to contribute significantly to the ‘Vision India@2047’.

You are the custodians of financial discipline, cost optimization, and resource management—elements critical for ensuring the economic and operational efficiency of businesses.
