SHAMLI: The Uttar Pradesh police and district administration have seized assets worth nearly Rs 30 crore belonging to absconding gangster and history-sheeter Firoz Khan of Shamli. Acting under the direct supervision of senior authorities, the operation sent a strong message that crime-built empires will no longer be spared.

The large-scale attachment drive was carried out on December 25 under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Narendra Pratap Singh, along with Additional SP Sumit Shukla, SDM Unn Sandeep Kumar Tripathi, and CO Kairana Hemant Kumar. A heavy police force accompanied the team as 14 properties linked to Firoz Khan were officially seized across Shamli and nearby areas.

According to police records, Firoz Khan has 21 serious criminal cases registered against him, including offences under gangster and other stringent laws. He is currently on the run, evading arrest. Investigators say the seized assets were amassed through illegal activities and criminal proceeds.

The seizure process began at Firoz Khan’s ancestral house in Shamli, where officials went to serve attachment notices. However, his family members allegedly created a disturbance and refused to accept the notices. Following legal procedure, the administration then conducted a public announcement by beating drums across the town, formally declaring the seizure of Khan’s properties.

SP Narendra Pratap Singh stated that all properties acquired through criminal earnings were identified and attached with the help of Shamli police. “The present market value of the seized assets is estimated at around Rs 30 crore, including commercial, residential, and agricultural properties,” the SP said.

The seized properties paint a picture of a vast criminal empire. These include banquet halls, swimming pools, oil mills, shops, residential plots, and large tracts of agricultural land spread across Shamli, Jamalpur, Rajjak Nagar, and along the Meerut–Karnal and Shamli–Unn roads.

Among the major seizures:

  • Banquet hall and swimming pool complexes built on multiple agricultural plots in Shamli
  • 17 shops constructed on a residential plot on Shamli–Unn Road
  • Three shops near Gadiwala Chowk, valued at approximately Rs 1.15 crore
  • Oil mills established on agricultural land with Khasra number 893
  • Vacant residential plots near a petrol pump, in Jamalpur village, and in Mohalla Talahi
  • Agricultural land across several khasra numbers, including Khasra 68/2 in Rajjak Nagar, partially sold and partially enclosed with a boundary wall

Seizure notices have been pasted on all 14 properties, and attachment proceedings have been formally initiated.

Shamli Station House Officer Virendra Kasana revealed that police also sought details of Firoz Khan’s bank accounts. “All his bank accounts were found to be empty,” the SHO said, adding that financial transactions and bank accounts of his family members are now under investigation.
