MCX records turnover of Rs.7698.95 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.51875.49 crores in Options

GOLD Oct-24 futures contract gains by 0.11% and SILVER Dec-24 futures contract gains by 0.32%, while CRUDEOIL Sep-24 futures contract drops by 1.14% : Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Sep-24 futures was reached at 17851 point

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.59574.97 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 10 September 2024 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 7698.95 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 51875.49 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Sep-24 futures was reached at 17851 point.

Commodity Future Contracts:

Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 4094.70 crores. GOLD Oct-24 contract was up by 0.11% to Rs. 71710 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Sep-24 contract was up by 0.06% to Rs. 57924 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Sep-24 contract was up by 0.07% to Rs. 7038 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Oct-24 contract was up by 0.12% to Rs. 71660 per 10 gram.

SILVER Dec-24 contract was up by 0.32% to Rs. 83911 per kg, while SILVERM Nov-24 contract was up by 0.38% to Rs. 83988 per kg and SILVERMIC Nov-24 contract was up by 0.37% to Rs. 84000 per kg.

Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1811.26 crores with volume of 2525 lots and OI of 19728 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1098.10 crores with volume of 4359 lots and OI of 32377 lots.

Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1515.12 crores. COPPER Sep-24 contract was down by 0.27% to Rs. 788.7 per kg and ZINC Sep-24 contract was down by 0.65% to Rs. 253.9 per kg while ALUMINIUM Sep-24 contract was down by 0.57% to Rs. 219.7 per kg and LEAD Sep-24 contract was down by 0.28% to Rs. 181 per kg.

Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 898.76 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 165.52 crores, Lead futures Rs. 35.70 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 294.99 crores.

Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 2113.83 crores. CRUDEOIL Sep-24 contract was down by 1.14% to Rs. 5710 per BBL while NATURALGAS Sep-24 contract was up by 2.58% to Rs. 187.1 per MMBTU.

Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 650.63 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 1249.43 crores.

AGRI: MENTHAOIL Sep-24 contract was up by 0.11% to Rs. 947 per kg and COTTONCNDY Sep-24 contract was down by 0.38% to Rs. 58320 per candy.

Options on Commodity Future Contracts:

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 51875.49 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 931.82 crores.

Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5700 was down by 22.04% to Rs. 133.00 with volume of 75040 lots & OI of 16387 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5700 was up by 30.67% to Rs. 121 with volume of 80467 lots & OI of 13335 lots.

Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.180 was up by 26.96% to Rs. 12.95 with volume of 23447 lots & OI of 7745 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.180 was down by 22.93% to Rs. 6.05 with volume of 22036 lots & OI of 9669 lots.

Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.72000 was up by 0.79% to Rs. 701.00 with volume of 727 lots & OI of 1162 lots, while Gold Put Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.71000 was down by 8.32% to Rs. 507 with volume of 719 lots & OI of 927 lots.

Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was up by 5.79% to Rs. 960.00 with volume of 158 lots & OI of 564 lots, while Silver Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.84000 was down by 6.11% to Rs. 3394.5 with volume of 114 lots & OI of 254 lots.
