FICCI FLO Chennai – Verticals
Handlooms and Handicrafts vertical
The Handlooms and Handicrafts vertical this year is guided by a clear mandate to preserve and promote India’s rich artisanal heritage while creating sustainable market linkages for women-led enterprises.
A key highlight is our FLO Bazaar, Nayanam, on July 24th and 25th, a curated platform bringing weavers and artisans from across the country directly to consumers, expanding their market reach and strengthening livelihoods.
In Tamil Nadu, we will support Zanz with digital and financial literacy, while also positioning local crafts as meaningful, contemporary gifting options.
We will bring learning to life through a textile trail to Kanchipuram and a four-day immersion in Kutch, alongside expert-led sessions on textiles and heritage.
We will also spotlight unique traditions like Chettinad KOTTAN weaving, and connect temple garland artisans to Project Bloom, creating new livelihood opportunities.
Through all this, our goal is simple to move from appreciation to action, and ensure our crafts not only survive, but truly thrive.
State-Led Industry: Automobile & Mobility Vertical
This year, our vertical is focused on strengthening collaborations within Tamil Nadu’s thriving automobile and mobility ecosystem. We are creating meaningful engagement between women, academia, and industry through partnerships with IIT Madras, Anna University, leading automotive companies, as well as polytechnic and ITI institutes across the state.
Our aim is to open up pathways for women in manufacturing, mobility innovation, EV technologies, and future-skilling.
Our goal is simple: to empower more women to participate, lead, and thrive in one of India’s fastest-growing sectors.
AI & Digital Literacy vertical
The AI & Digital Literacy vertical of FLO Chennai is driven by a simple vision that no woman is left behind by technology. From the grassroots to the boardroom, we want every woman to have the tools, knowledge, and confidence to thrive in a digital world.
This year, we are focusing on three key groups. At the grassroots level, we are enabling women with essential digital skills from using smartphones and setting up Google accounts to making safe UPI payments and understanding online safety, including protecting their children.
For FLO members and MSMEs, the focus is on practical empowerment, helping them build websites, streamline workflows, and leverage tools like Claude, Notion, and Trello to grow their businesses, alongside expert-led roundtables.
And for students, in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu government, we are taking AI literacy into colleges and schools to prepare the next generation.
Aligned with FLO National, including initiatives like the Google Spark Workshop, our goal is clear to equip women with skills that create real, lasting impact.
