MCX records turnover of Rs.8934.62 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.57574.34 crores in Options

GOLD Oct-24 futures contract gains by 0.1% and SILVER Sep-24 futures contract drops by 0.47%, while CRUDEOIL Sep-24 futures contract drops by 0.35% : Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Sep-24 futures was reached at 17864 point

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.66509.49 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 02 September 2024 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 8934.62 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 57574.34 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Sep-24 futures was reached at 17864 point.

Commodity Future Contracts:

Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 5537.20 crores. GOLD Oct-24 contract was up by 0.1% to Rs. 71680 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Sep-24 contract was up by 0.03% to Rs. 57920 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Sep-24 contract was down by 0.03% to Rs. 7045 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Sep-24 contract was up by 0.15% to Rs. 71300 per 10 gram.

SILVER Sep-24 contract was down by 0.47% to Rs. 82893 per kg, while SILVERM Nov-24 contract was down by 0.5% to Rs. 84885 per kg and SILVERMIC Nov-24 contract was down by 0.52% to Rs. 84885 per kg.

Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1884.06 crores with volume of 2630 lots and OI of 20642 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1932.31 crores with volume of 7640 lots and OI of 31074 lots.

Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1509.57 crores. COPPER Sep-24 contract was down by 0.78% to Rs. 799.7 per kg and ZINC Sep-24 contract was down by 1.56% to Rs. 264.5 per kg while ALUMINIUM Sep-24 contract was down by 1.22% to Rs. 222.6 per kg and LEAD Sep-24 contract was down by 0.32% to Rs. 185.2 per kg.

Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 942.59 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 120.82 crores, Lead futures Rs. 26.17 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 296.54 crores.

Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 1908.90 crores. CRUDEOIL Sep-24 contract was down by 0.35% to Rs. 6181 per BBL while NATURALGAS Sep-24 contract was up by 2.74% to Rs. 183.9 per MMBTU.

Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 664.10 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 1023.82 crores.

AGRI: MENTHAOIL Sep-24 contract was down by 0.09% to Rs. 977 per kg and COTTONCNDY Sep-24 contract was up by 1.55% to Rs. 58900 per candy.

Options on Commodity Future Contracts:

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 57574.34 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1147.63 crores.

Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6200 was down by 4.26% to Rs. 159.40 with volume of 91093 lots & OI of 19444 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6200 was up by 9.06% to Rs. 175.7 with volume of 77442 lots & OI of 14799 lots.

Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.180 was up by 23.94% to Rs. 13.20 with volume of 19134 lots & OI of 9815 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.180 was down by 21.79% to Rs. 9.15 with volume of 15461 lots & OI of 8054 lots.

Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.73000 was down by 1.79% to Rs. 520.50 with volume of 668 lots & OI of 969 lots, while Gold Put Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.71000 was down by 7.91% to Rs. 693 with volume of 556 lots & OI of 696 lots.

Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was down by 5.08% to Rs. 1992.00 with volume of 160 lots & OI of 481 lots, while Silver Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.80000 was up by 0.84% to Rs. 1449 with volume of 362 lots & OI of 613 lots.
