Narendra Modi reached the place where Lord Ram had taken oath to defeat Ravana

Chennai. Before the consecration ceremony to be held in Ayodhya, PM Modi reached Arichal Munai in Tamil Nadu. Before this he also worshiped at Sri Kothandarama Swamy Temple. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (January 21) visited Arichal Munai in Dhanushkodi, Tamil Nadu and offered floral tributes on the beach.

It is believed that Dhanushkodi is the place where Lord Rama took an oath to defeat Ravana. In this regard, PM Modi said on social media platform Earlier, Modi worshiped at Sri Kothandarama Swamy temple. The meaning of the name Kothandarama is Ram with a bow. It is situated in Dhanushkodi only. It is said that Ravana’s brother Vibhishana met Lord Rama here for the first time and sought refuge from him.

It is noteworthy that PM Modi has reached here before the consecration of Ramlala to be held in Ayodhya on Monday (January 22). Earlier on Saturday (January 20), he had visited Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Tiruchirappalli and Sri Arulmigu Ramanathaswamy Temple in Rameshwaram.

The idol of Lord Ramlala has been kept in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple in Ayodhya. The idol of ‘Ramlala’ has been made by Mysore based sculptor Arun Yogiraj. The statue is 51 inches tall and weighs 1.5 tonnes. Lord Rama is depicted in the idol as a five-year-old child. The ’56 Bhog Prasad’ offered to Ramlala after the consecration ceremony has also reached Ayodhya from Lucknow.
